Coming from a competitive sporting background, & a bit of a perfectionist mindset, I spent years restricting my intake, over exercising & feeling guilty for enjoying food. My relationship with food was shocking to say the least. And to be honest, I wasn’t happy.
One day I woke up & realised the damage I was doing. Over time, I worked on shifting my focus from restrictive dieting, to adopting a balanced approach to both eating and exercise & have never looked back.
I was no longer eating foods because they were low calorie, but because they gave me energy, & I enjoyed them.
I was no longer exercising because I needed to ‘burn calories’ but rather because it helped to clear my head & made me feel strong.
This shift in mindset has allowed me to stay at my ideal/set weight point, long term without any stress or dieting, while still consuming ‘treat’ foods regularly.
Rather than following a diet with an end date and hating the process, adjust your lifestyle, cultivate the correct mindset & reap the benefits both mentally & physically!

Before I started seeing Ally I had gained almost 30kg and could not lose it. I had seen another dietitian who put me on 1200 calories and 50g of carbs a day which was just impossible (and not healthy)! Ally worked with me on building healthy habits and I’ve lost almost 25kg and am in the best shape I’ve ever been in. Ally doesn’t restrict food and she teaches you about the importance of protein, fats and carbs in your diet (and not cutting any of these out as they’re all important)! I recently went to Europe and Ally made me feel confident to enjoy my trip and not worry about my diet or weight which made it so much better. I would 100% recommend Ally to anyone (and I do)!
